Would you like to spend a different and active holiday onboard the Lilla
Dan?
Shipowners J. Lauritzen A/S offer you various possibilities for a different
and exiting holiday onboard their topsail schooner Lilla Dan in the summer
of 2008.
The navigation will be planned in consideration of both children and
adults. Sailing will mainly take place during daytime. The minimum age for
participation is 7 years (children shall be accompanied by parents/adults).
The ”Lilla Dan” is a two-masted topsail schooner
built in 1951 at Ring Andersen’s Træskibsværft in Svendborg as a training
ship for J. Lauritzen A/S.
The ship is operated by a professional crew of 4 persons and can
accommodate 16 overnight guests.
Conditions onboard:
The participants sleep in bunks in the crew’s quarters which also function
as day room. A bathroom and two toilets are located on deck.
The participants will be divided into twatches which operate the vessel in
co-operation with the crew. All participants will under guidance by the
crew take part in the daily work onboard e.g. carry out duties as a
helmsman, common cleaning, duties in the galley and pantry, setting sail
and sailing manoeuvres according to a fixed schedule. There are two
watch-keeping periods during night navigation.
Depending on the composition of the participants and the purpose of the
cruise, the cruises will consist of both sailing theory with a schooner,
practice and various sailing manoeuvres with the vessel, where the
individual participant will be in command during manoeuvring.
No sailing experience is needed to participate in the below cruises
(including sailing races/regattas).
Passage planning:
The cruises are planned on a day by day basis in consideration of the
weather conditions at the actual time, and will take place in the area
described. Departure and arrival ports are according to the below sailing
plan for the individual cruise.
However, the programme of the sailing races/regattas is binding
irrespective of weather/wind.

Each cruise will only be carried out if a sufficient number of
participants have registered.

CRUISE 1 - Archipelago Cruise 1

8 days starting in Copenhagen on Sunday 28 June at 18.00 hours.
Ending in Gothenburg on Saturday 5 July at approx. 12.00
hours.
There are buses and trains from Gothenburg-Copenhagen and ferries
Gothenburg-Frederikshavn.
Navigation through the first part of the Götakanal and into Vänern.
The latter is Sweden's largest freshwater lake and from here
three various archipelagos can be called upon.

CRUISE 2 - Archipelago Cruise 2
|
7 days starting in Gothenburg on Sunday 6 July at 16.00
hours. Ending in Gothenburg on Staturday 12 July at approx. 12.00
hours.
There are busses and trains from Copenhagen-Gothenburgand ferries
from Frederikshavn-Gothenburg.
Navigation through the first part of the Götakanal and into Vänern.
The latter is Sweden's largest freshwater lake and from here
three various archipelagos can be called upon.

CRUISE 3 - Archipelago Cruise 3
|
7 days starting in Gothenburg on Sunday 13 July at 16.00 hours.
Ending in Korsør on Saturday 19 July at approx. 15.00
hours.
There are busses and trains from Copenhagen-Gothenburg and ferries
from Frederikshavn-Gothenburg.
Navigation through the Swedish archipelago calling at selected
natural harbours in the area around Marstrand, return to Denmark
possibly via the Skaw, Læsø or Anholt.

CRUISE 4 - Round Funen (sailing race)
|
|
6 days starting from Nyborg on Sunday 20 July at 12.00 hours. A
party will be held in Svendborg on Friday 25 July in the
evening for all guests/crews. Ending/signing-off in Svendborg on
Saturday 26 July at approx. 11.00 hours.
Saling schedule:
20 July Korsør-Korsør (practice - not part of the race)
21 July Korsør-Æbelø or Kolby Kås
22 July Æbelø or Kolby Kås - Fredericia
23 July Midelfart-Assens
24 July Assens-Fåborg
25 July Fåborg-Svendborg
For those who want to participate on individual days, it will
only be possible to stay overnight if the cruise is not fully
booked.

CRUISE 5 - South of Funen
|
7 days starting from Svendborg on Sunday 27 July at 12.00 hours.
Ending in Copenhagen on Saturday 2 August at approx. 15.00
hours.
Naviation to harbours, e.g. Marstal, Ærøskøbing, Rudkøbing, Fåborg or
e.g. lie at anchor in the natural habour by Korshavn.

CRUISE 6 - Round Limfjorden (sailing race)
|
|
5 days departing from Ålborg on Tuesdag 9 september at 13.00
hours. Meals for all guests and crews in all harbours. The
race ends in Skive on Saturdag 13 September at approx. 16.00 hours
followed by a party for all guests and crews. Ending/signing-off on
Sunday 14 September at 10.00 hours in Skive or at 18.00 hours in
Ålborg.

race)
10 September Løgstør - Thisted
11 September Thisted - Struer
12 September Struer - Fur
13 September Fur - Skive
