Half a lifetime with J. Lauritzen
A few weeks ago, our Stamford office celebrated the birthday of an extraordinary colleague, Nancy Trigo. Nancy has spent exactly half of her lifetime with J. Lauritzen (USA) Inc., which gives us a great opportunity to look back at how it all began:
Nancy started her journey with J. Lauritzen in April 1984, when Mr. Torben Janholt, then Vice President of the “Copenhagen Overseas Corporation” in Manhattan, hired Nancy as his secretary.
In February 1985, the New York office moved to a new location in Cos Cob, CT, and Nancy decided she did not want to commute. However, the secretary hired to replace Nancy quit shortly afterwards, and Nancy was persuaded to come back and give the office a hand for just one month. Fortunately, Nancy has stayed with us since then.
Throughout the years, Nancy has been a strong force within the J. Lauritzen organisation in the US and as Executive Secretary, she has maintained a harmonious office atmosphere and handled a variety of administrative tasks such as salary, rent, pension, budgeting, bookkeeping, reporting and much more. Nancy is widely known in J. Lauritzen for her warm personality and loyal commitment to the company.
For 32 years J. Lauritzen has now enjoyed Nancy’s good work, dedication and inspiring presence, and we are all glad that Nancy is still going strong and that she has no immediate plan of retirement.
