Lauritzen Bulkers discusses grain at Seattle conference with large industry players
On 21 October 2014, Peter Borup, President of Lauritzen Bulkers, spoke on 'Shipping and Transportation outlook, Bulk Freight' at the biannual Export Exchange conference in Seattle.
This year’s conference features Lauritzen Bulkers’ President Peter Borup as a speaker on 'Shipping and Transportation outlook, Bulk Freight'.
Mr Borup has been invited as speaker because “Ocean transportation is a vital part of exporting grain to our customers all around the world and, therefore, it's essential we get our visitors good information on this topic” says Erick Erickson, Vice President of the U.S. Grains Council. The two days in Seattle focuses on grain and are packed with reflections on today's marketplace such as the global agricultural landscape, evolving politics and policy for agriculture, transition in agriculture and global financial markets, agriculture innovation and market access.
In 2013, grain accounted for close to 30% of Lauritzen Bulkers’ transported volume.
The biannual Export Exchange conference allows grain customers from around the world to meet and is sponsored by the U.S. Grains Council (USGC) and Renewable Fuels Association (RFA). This year, overseas participants are scheduled to arrive from 32 countries.
